Ive always wanted a head to show off the hats and scarfs ive made but never have stumbled across one so i finally decided to make my own. Its coming out good so far, i need to order some eyes still and figure out how to shape the mouth, chin and neck but im pretty proud of myself. Maybe ill try for a kid next so i can show off some cloths ive made.

Poodle

I was commissioned to make these 3 poodles! I am very happy with how they came out. To create these 3 I modified a free pattern from Red Hearts website called Pomp A Poodle. By working inside out it enabled me to add the loop stitches to the legs, tail and head and i shortened the neck and legs a bit. Also it was requested that the brown poodle have gold eyes so i got to try out painting clear eyes for the first time. In order to sink the eyes into the head and give the appearance of a lid i make a gap 1 or 2 stitches larger than the eye in the piece where i want the eyes (the same way you would a button hole) and use plastic canvas to hold them in place like this. It really adds a whole new dimension to the dolls faces.
